Organizational History

Larimer Center for Mental Health (LCMH) became a private, non-profit corporation as a result of a Board of County Commissioners of Larimer County decision to remove mental health from the services of county government in May 1999. The County Commissioners' decision ended forty-three years of mental health services governed by Larimer County. The County Commissioners also decided that mental health services should be organized as a private organization and appointed a five member Board of Directors to serve as the founding governing body of a new, private non-profit corporation. By January 1, 2000, LCMH fulfilled all requirements to become a fully operational 501 (c) (3) corporation. Today, LCMH is a dynamic leader among health and human service providers in Larimer County with a reputation for innovation and collaboration. LCMH is committed to providing the highest standard of comprehensive mental health services to the people of Larimer County.
